Paper Cutting

Each of the following questions consists of a set of three figures X, Y and Z showing a sequence of folding of a piece of paper. Figure (Z) shows the manner in which the folded paper has been cut. These three figures are followed by four answer figures from which you have to choose a figure which would most closely resemble the unfolded form of figure (Z).

Remember each turn in the middle doubles the number of cuts also any cut on the corner makes it appear twice of its width.

1.

Here we turned the paper two times and put a cut in the middle so when we open, we will have four symmetric cuts. Now base of the triangular cut was nearer to the circumference and apex of the triangle was pointing the centre so all the four triangles will show the same pattern. Makes answer (4) correct.

2.

Here we have one and half cut on the edge of the fold so it will appear as three full kites. So answer will be (1)
